Update: January 19, 2024
The Senate has passed a stopgap spending bill extending the funding deadlines to March 1, 2024, for the departments of Agriculture, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Energy, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The department of Defense, Labor, and Education and additional departments deadline has moved to March 8, 2024.

Congress approved a stopgap spending bill to keep the government open into early 2024 while budget negotiations continue.

The continuing resolution (H.R.6363) will fund 20% of appropriations bills (including agriculture) through January 19, 2024, and the additional 80% of appropriations bills through February 2, 2024. Until then, the government will not shut down, and federal agencies will continue to run as usual.
