Throughout our 10-week program, from June through August, interns work full-time in a paid position that provides hands-on exposure to the full crop insurance cycle. Interns also have the opportunity to travel lightly and collaborate with professionals across various departments.

As a Crop Claims Adjuster Intern, participants take part in a ten-week observational program designed to introduce you to the core responsibilities of a crop claims adjuster. Through shadowing experienced adjusters, interns gain insight into how crop claims are investigated and processed, how field inspections are conducted, and how adjusters communicate with farmers and other stakeholders. Interns also learn how compliance with insurance policies and regulatory guidelines is maintained throughout the claims process.Past program locations: West Texas | South Central Illinois | Central Illinois | Northeast South Dakota.
As a Crop IT Marketing Intern, participants assist the team in creating and coordinating digital marketing activities that help build our brand and connect with customers. Interns gain hands-on experience working with our Promotional Marketing and Communications team and learn how marketing campaigns, social media, corporate communications, website design, promotional materials, and content come together. This role also includes a focus on promoting and demonstrating new technology features throughout the summer. This is a great opportunity to explore the field and build practical skills in a collaborative environment.Past program locations: Fargo, ND | Missoula, MT.
As a Crop Underwriting Intern, participants receive hands-on training and real-world experience in a supportive and positive environment. Interns work closely with one of our crop insurance underwriting teams, gaining exposure to:
- MPCI (Multiple Peril Crop Insurance) – covering a wide range of risks like drought, flood, and disease.
- Crop-Hail Insurance – protecting farmers against damage caused by hailstorms.

As a Marketing Intern with the NAU Country Crop Division, participants are immersed in the crop insurance program and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and specialized industry. Interns work closely with a highly skilled Marketing Representative who will guide them through the fundamentals of sales, account management, and training within the crop insurance space. Interns play an active role in supporting the marketing team’s strategic initiatives by contributing to impactful projects. Past internship projects have included: market analysis, customer-focused initiatives, and design and implementation of customer surveys. This internship offers a unique opportunity to build foundational skills, gain exposure to real-world marketing operations, and contribute meaningfully to the success of the crop division.Past program locations: Fargo, ND.
